Robert Hourie
Rob has been working in Recruitment Services since 2005. Throughout his career, he has closely collaborated with some of the largest companies in the world. He has successfully assisted numerous business owners, directors, and managers in filling positions, resulting in the formation of highly successful teams. In some cases, he has proudly witnessed businesses grow from startups to publicly listed companies. Being a part of these successes has always brought him great pride, and he eagerly looks forward to the next chapter in his recruitment career. Initially, Rob worked in areas such as Construction and Building Services. In 2009, he transitioned to the IT sector and undertook large projects with renowned companies like Google, Microsoft, and HP. As the years went by, Rob began working closely with other major players such as Fujitsu, Ericsson, and AWS. Additionally, he successfully placed thousands of candidates into various job roles across multiple countries, including Ireland, UK, The Netherlands, US, and Germany over the next 12 years.
Rob takes great pride in his established reputation within the Recruitment Sector and strives to continuously improve. In pursuit of his vision for the industry, he decided to establish Elwood Roberts. The motivation behind this venture was the realization that the recruitment sector could be made more transparent and accessible. During his research for Elwood Roberts, Rob sought to understand what businesses disliked about Recruitment Agencies. The recurring issue that emerged was the perceived unaffordability of their services. Equipped with this knowledge, he set out to create new and exciting recruitment service products that would significantly reduce costs by up to 80% in some cases.
As he delved deeper into the concerns of businesses, commitment emerged as another major issue. With escalating rates, the common complaint was, “We have too much work on our hands.” To address this, Elwood Roberts developed a new product called Project Recruitment, specifically tailored for growing businesses and multinational corporations. This approach involves limiting the number of clients and job positions assigned to their recruiters. The focus is on efficiently filling jobs rather than simply accumulating a high volume of open positions for appearances.
The recruitment sector is in need of a thorough overhaul, and Rob eagerly anticipates the progress it will make in the years to come. With Elwood Roberts, he hopes to play a significant role in the sector’s future developments as it continues to evolve over time.
