HR and Recruitment will be revolutionised due to Generative AI, I tihnk we all know that. I wanted to explore, how. How is GenAI in the HR and Recruitment space effecting our day to day now?   I have personally engaged with numerous Generative AI products in the HR and Recruitment space and found the below the most advanced.

What is Generative AI?

Generative AI refers to a type of artificial intelligence that can create content. This content can be anything from text, images, and music, to more complex creations like entire virtual worlds. Unlike traditional AI, which follows predefined rules and algorithms, Generative AI uses machine learning models to generate new, original content based on the data it has been trained on.

How Can Generative AI Help You at Work today?

  1. Boosting Creativity and Innovation

Imagine having a brainstorming session where you never run out of ideas. Generative AI can help by generating a plethora of suggestions for product names, marketing slogans, or even new business strategies. It’s like having a creative partner who never gets tired or runs out of inspiration.

  1. Enhancing Productivity

One of the most practical uses of Generative AI is in automating repetitive tasks. From drafting emails to generating reports, AI can take over mundane tasks, allowing you to focus on more critical aspects of your job. For instance, tools like ChatGPT can draft emails or write summaries of lengthy documents, saving you valuable time. Chatbots can now be at the ready for any employee with a HR related question.

For example, “how many annual leave days have I left this year” – these applications can get that information instantly, no need to speak with someone in HR. It can also let you know your rights and promotional opportunities. There are numerous HR chatbots out in the market today.

  1. Improving Decision-Making

Generative AI can analyze vast amounts of data and generate insights that might not be immediately obvious to humans. This can be incredibly useful in decision-making processes, whether it’s understanding market trends, predicting customer behaviour, or optimizing supply chains. AI-generated reports and visualizations can present data in a way that’s easy to understand and act upon.

These Data sources are built in to numerous legacy systems. One application is called Anodot. Anodot reports business incidents and trends in real-time and provides insights you can action pretty much instantly for employers, things like the best hiring periods and what your actually workforce needs.  Any major shifts or changes, notifications are sent.

  1. Personalized Learning and Development

Everyone learns at their own pace, and Generative AI can help tailor learning experiences to individual needs. AI-driven platforms can create personalized training modules, suggest relevant articles, and even simulate real-life scenarios for practice. This ensures that employees can continually improve their skills in a way that suits them best.

HR has had good access to Training Programs for some time, but systems today can track key skills related to your business and assess trends on what the future might hold. For example, Talent Guard Workforce GPT tracks these high-demand skills. It assesses the live labour market data and designs career paths for employees. It assesses workers’ career progression and provides suggestions for growth. Not only will this help plan their future in the business, but will give them a clear idea on progression which will lead to good retention rates and align with modern workforce needs for continuous learning

  1. Enhancing Customer Service

Customer service can be greatly improved with the help of Generative AI. AI chatbots can handle routine inquiries, provide instant responses, and even escalate more complex issues to human agents. This not only improves efficiency but also ensures that customers receive timely and accurate information. Systems like Paradox and Talkpush are innovating new ways to cut down on those repetitive tasks for HR.

  1. Recruitment & Sourcing talent.

I use a suite of tools that help our business source the best talent. Because our focus is purely talent generation, we do keep a close eye on what works and doesn’t with generative AI in Recruitment.

Systems these days use skills data from resumes and job specs and try to find a match. This is nothing new and is improving all the time. These systems are only as good as the data provided. If a HR Department doesn’t have a dedicated Recruiter and tend not to utilise Recruitment Partners such as ours. Platforms like Beamery, Eightfold or Seekout are good places to start. They will free up time for HR professionals to focus on strategic initiatives like building relationships with top candidates. They can also identify skills gaps within teams, guides the creation of new roles, and reduces hiring biases (where data will allow), promoting a balanced, diverse workforce. There are gaps and flaws with these systems. I have personally found them hard to use and rarely accurate. But a great start!

The Future is bright for HR and Recruitment sectors.

The potential of Generative AI is immense, and its applications are only limited by our imagination. As AI continues to evolve, it will undoubtedly become an even more integral part of our daily work lives.
